Trumpeter Swans Passed By

I was surprised to look up and see a couple dozen big white ducks out in my bay. It appears they are Trumpeter Swans. Some have been reported in other local areas this spring. I have not seen them here before, at least not in the last 15 years. I have not digitized my early logs and it seems like I saw them once before but will have to dig back into those reports. While they were cruising around here I saw a flock in the distance that was heading toward Burley Lagoon at the end of Henderson Bay. Eventually this group took flight and also flew into Burley Lagoon. I hope they are still around.
