Surf Scoters

Surf Scoters used to arrive this time of year by the 100’s. They pass through in the fall and spring and stay here a few weeks. I have not seen the huge groups of Surf Scoters for a few years. But I did see a lone Surf Scoter the other day and recently I was able to see a fairly large group in dim evening light in the distance. I read that large groups have been seen in Burley Lagoon lately, which is just a bit north of me. So Surf Scoters are around but have just not frequented my beachfront. This is good to know.
