This morning I saw 4 loons in the distance and later was able to photograph these 2. They return in September and are here most of October. I saw them September 27 last year. In the spring they come by in April and May. I have an essay on loons

This morning I saw 6 Eared Grebes. This is my first observation of ducks arriving here for the Fall. They are always the first to arrive. Last year I reported Grebes on September 15, so they are nice and early this year. I really miss my ducks during the summer
Always a treat to have a loon visiting most days. Extra treat to have 2 loons fishing for their breakfast today.
The Common Goldeneye’s are around all winter into spring. They hang out in small groups and are often joined by small groups of grebes. A group was floating by the other day and I managed to just grab one with a very golden eye.
